ABS606D High speed LED voltage controller
The ABS606D is the latest high-speed, high-power version of the ABS606 – LED Voltage Controller developed by Genesi Elettronica.
Designed to facilitate the interconnection between illuminators and cameras employed in Machine Vision applications, it features a series of additional characteristics and improvements compared to the previous version, including:
- 2 cameras outputs, bringing the configuration to 6+2 channels.
- Input for encoder support with the possibility of configuring triggers for both illuminators and cameras based on the signal received and by setting the dimensional parameters of the system.
- More robust and faster software with Linux operating system.
- Web interface for configuration and status verification of the controller.
Featuring 6 output channels for lighting control and 2 output channels for cameras, the ABS606D has been developed to provide our customers with a high-efficiency, high-performance controller capable of coordinating various production equipment with LED lighting synchronisation when the camera is set on slave mode.

In the application demonstration ‘The Wheel of Fortune’, which will be previewed at the SPS – Smart Production Solutions trade fair in Nuremberg from 25 to 27 November 2025, we will demonstrate the speed with which the ABS606D can control both the camera and the illuminator to take a clear ‘photo’ of the item being examined, starting from an encoder signal.
The LINUX-based software and advanced web interface enable the system to provide more configuration and control parameters than previous versions. In order to showcase all these features, the demonstration will consist of a Genesi Elettronica LED illuminator from the GEST – GEST MEGA RING family with a diameter of 99 mm and a colour matrix camera supplied by Alkeria from the NOTA series.
The ‘Wheel of Fortune’, with a diameter of 50 cm and divided into 20 segments of alternating colours and a total of 5 repeated images, can be turned manually by visitors. The camera and illuminator will be positioned in front of the wheel itself and connected to the ABS606D device, which will control the entire system to take a centred shot of each segment of the wheel.Â

How does the application work?
Specifically, the ABS receives the signal from the encoder and, based on the configuration, sends a trigger to the camera for acquisition and to the illuminator. In this case, the ABS is set to keep the illuminator on for 1000 us, and this duration corresponds to the camera’s exposure time.
Therefore, everything is performed based on the signal sent by the encoder assembled on the wheel shaft, which ensures that the camera captures the image and the illuminator turns on at the exact centre of each sector of the wheel, regardless of the wheel speed.
There will be a first display showing the interface of a software programme implemented by Genesi Elettronica, which aims to show the images acquired by the system, the speed of the wheel and the colour of each segment, recognised by a computer vision algorithm.
The data processed and produced by the ABS will be visible on a second screen located next to the wheel, which will display the ABS advanced web interface in order to show the live operation of the application demonstration.
Furthermore, since the ABS606D is capable of controlling up to 6 illuminators, in addition to the GEST99 present in the demo structure, there will be new illuminators belonging to the Five Colours line, developed by Genesi Elettronica, covering 5 wavelengths, specifically: RGBYW – Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and White. Installed on the panel, they will be controlled by the device so that they light up in sync with the segment photographed and maintain that colour once the wheel has stopped.
